This Privacy Notice has been prepared in accordance with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 (“Law”) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) to inform you, as the data controller, about what personal data we collect, how we obtain it, and the purposes for which we use it.

2.1 Contact Form and Service Delivery

We may collect the following personal data through our website’s contact form, correspondence, meetings, and in the course of providing legal and advisory services: identity data (name and surname), contact data (email address, telephone number, postal address), professional information (company name, position), information relating to legal matters, and other information you choose to share with Semiz Law.

This data is processed for the purposes of providing legal and advisory services, managing and conducting legal proceedings, carrying out communication activities, fulfilling legal obligations, and managing client relationships. The sending of newsletters and updates on legal developments is carried out solely on the basis of your explicit consent.

2.2 Cookies and Automated Data Collection

When you visit our website, certain cookies may be placed on your browser. Cookies are small text files stored by websites on your browser that help us understand how you use our site.

Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are essential for the basic functioning of the website. Your cookie preference record (cookie_consent) falls within this category. These cookies are processed on the basis of legitimate interest under Article 5/2-f of the Law and do not require separate consent.

Analytics Cookies: We use Google Analytics 4 to collect visitor statistics. In this context, the cookies _ga (2-year duration, user identification) and _ga_6BSWX3JZ5F (2-year duration, session tracking) may be placed. Through these cookies, your IP address (anonymised), device and browser information, pages visited, time spent on our site, and geographic location (city level) are processed. Analytics cookies are activated only upon your explicit consent; if you do not consent, these cookies will not be placed.

Cookieless Analytics: Our infrastructure provider Cloudflare offers Cloudflare Web Analytics, which collects anonymous site statistics on the server side without using cookies. As this service does not process personal data, it does not require consent.

Your personal data is processed on the following legal bases: performance of a contract in connection with legal and advisory services (Article 5/2-c of the Law; Article 6/1-b GDPR); fulfilment of legal obligations (Article 5/2-ç of the Law; Article 6/1-c GDPR); legitimate interest for the placement of strictly necessary cookies and ensuring website security (Article 5/2-f of the Law; Article 6/1-f GDPR); and your explicit consent for the activation of analytics cookies and the sending of legal newsletters (Article 5/1 of the Law; Article 6/1-a GDPR).

3. Transfer of Personal Data

Your personal data may be transferred, to the extent necessary for the performance of our services, to our business partners, official public authorities including courts and enforcement offices, third-party finance and accounting service providers, and technical infrastructure service providers, in accordance with Articles 8 and 9 of the Law.

If you consent to the use of analytics cookies, data collected through Google Analytics 4 is transferred to Google LLC (United States of America). This transfer is carried out on the basis of Standard Contractual Clauses provided by Google, in accordance with Article 9 of the Law and Article 46 of the GDPR.

4. Rights of Data Subjects

Under Article 11 of the Law and Articles 15-22 of the GDPR, you have the right to learn whether your personal data is being processed, to request information if it is, to learn the purposes of processing and whether data is used in accordance with those purposes, to know the third parties to whom your data is transferred, to request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data, to request deletion or destruction of your data, to object to outcomes arising solely from automated processing that are detrimental to you, to claim compensation for damages arising from unlawful processing, and to withdraw your consent at any time.

You may submit requests regarding your rights to [email protected]. Your request will be concluded within thirty days at the latest, depending on the nature of the request. For requests under the GDPR, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority in your country.

You can set your analytics cookie preference via the cookie banner displayed on your first visit to our website. You may withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your browser’s cookies or browser data and revisiting our site. The cookie banner will reappear and you will be able to reset your preference.
